JUST ONE STAMP - CHERYL BAKER

Just got the first set of cards for our new Just One Stamp feature - sent in by Cheryl Baker.

I love these - each one is so unique, and Cheryl stamped onto tissue for this one, then adhered the image to the card!

Thanks so much, Cheryl - these are great! A BladeRubberStamps UM stamp is on its way to you as a little thankyou prezzie for being our first contributor.

I hope this will give you all out there some inspiration, and get you sorting through all those cards you have hidden away. All you have to do is scan or photograph your card and email me the pic - click the Email Me button in the sidebar.

I am SO looking forward to seeing your artwork!

Stop Press! Addendum:

I managed to persuade Cheryl to tell me her techniques (enquiring minds, etc....) The tissue she uses is Hazza tissue (aka Hansa tissue in some art shops) and I think you might just get away with the heavier weight of giftwrap tissue.

Cheryl says:

I sometimes use coloured card on the background or twinkling H20's,or do direct to paper using various inkpads. Then I stamp onto the tissue carefully cut out and use Golden gel medium to stick it onto the atc or card. Sometimes I will cut out the image then colour half of it in with pens then leave the rest and add it onto card or atc.

Note
: If you can't find Golden brand products, Liquitex and Winsor & Newton also make gel mediums.

JUST ONE STAMP

I thought it might be fun to show several images using the same stamp.

All samples by Susie Jefferson

Nude from PaperArtsy

I always liked the With One Stamp feature in Somerset Studio and Somerset Inspirations, as I think it gets the old brain cells percolating on how many ways to give one stamp a completely different look.

Variations on a theme

Here's a postcard

I thought it would be a great idea to start Just One Stamp as a regular feature.

And a tag

I'd love to show YOUR artwork as well!

And a waterfall card

The stamp is the Eiffel Tower from Tim Holtz's I See Paris set.

Have you got any cards or other artwork you would like to share using Just One Stamp? I'd love to see them, and of course they'll go on the blog!

To enter, you'd need to send scans or photos (jpgs please) of a minimum of 3 cards (or ATCs, scrapbook page etc) all using the same rubber stamp.
Everyone whose cards are showcased on the blog will get a BladeRubber unmounted stamp as a little prize.

SPRING PENNANT - VIDEO

Stampington have done it again!

Here's a charming little video on how to make a Spring Pennant by Kristen Robinson - perfect for parties

Here's the link for the instructions, the pattern and a wonderful, printable French document.

If you can bear to thing of Christmas this early, this would make a great ornament to hang off curtain rails etc, with different elements and background papers.

And if you love interesting backgrounds, Stampington also give this link for you to download scans of vintage French lace, perfect for digital scrapbooking!

RECYCLING OLD COMPUTER DISCS

I always think it's amazing, the off-the-wall ideas people can come up with.

Here's how to recycle all your old floppy discs - this link is for making a bag, but as it's so rigid, I'm thinking PAPER HOLDER (it looks the perfect size and shape for those 12in x 12in scrapbooking papers ...)

Floppy Disk Bag - More DIY How To Projects

If you want to see some really out-there ideas, check this out on my Computery page.

Now all I have to do is get hold of some discs...

WHAT AM I UP TO? WHY SO QUIET?

I bet you are all wondering what I've been up to, as I have been a little quiet.

Well, I have been embracing my digital alter-ego and making blog buttons, as you can see in the sidebar.

If you would like to take a button it's easy to do.

In Blogger, go to Layouts > Page Elements > Add A Gadget - then add an HTML/JavaCode Box and copy & paste ALL the code into the box, then click Save.

For WordPress, copy & paste the code into a Text box.

You'll find all sorts of blog toys on my personal site: fun buttons, email buttons, free backgrounds... The how-to's for the email buttons are on The Computery page.
