NEW SEASON, NEW LOOK, NEW CLASSES
It's the new season for classes at Blade Rubber Stamps too! Here is the new class schedule, through to Christmas.
I'm very happy to report new classes, and a new teacher! Let's all welcome Chris McMillan, who is teaching a Master Class on GILDING using Gilding Flakes. If you have always wondered what gilding is, or have the flakes and have always wondered how to use them, you need this class!
As always, go direct to the Blade Rubber website to book a class. Classes are limited to just 7 people, so everyone gets lots of individual attention - so book early to avoid being disappointed.
Enjoy!

FOILS, RESIST & TWINKLING H2Os
It's been a shamefully long time since my last post, so big apologies!I've got a good excuse though - Blade Rubber commissioned me to design more stamps for you, so there are some exciting new images in the pipeline! More about that in a later post...
Images copyright Stampington & Christine Adolph

The nice people at Stampington have just come out with a great little video, using foils - on red liner tape sheets, using glue sticks, Stamp-n-Stick powder (you heat it like embossing powder, then it's sticky) etc. You could also use a Stamp'n'Bond inkpad.
There's also a really great resist technique using bleach and Twinkling H2Os! I know how you love these paints, and it's great to see a new use for them.
Here's the video on how to do it - featuring Christine Adolph, who designs great stamps and my personal favourite: that huge cube!
Christine also shows a really clever way on using those left-over after-images of foil too. I never would have thought of this one!
Enjoy!

COMPUTER TUTORIAL: ADD A ROLLOVER TO YOUR COMMENTS

Copyright-free image from Tack-o-Rama
Here's my latest Computery tutorial, how to add a rollover to the Comments under your posts.
It does involve dabbling with your html, so I have done step-by-step screenshots for you.
Hope you like it!
ADDENDUM:
KBeau says:
For everyone else who is having trouble seeing it, you have to be on the blog main page where all of the posts are and not the page where only one post is. When you pass over where it says "1 comment" or "2 comments" or such, then you get a pop up box that says, "Click here to leave a comment" or something like that.
Here's a picture - or go to my post in The Computery (link above).

FABULOUS COFFEE RECIPES!
You might think this would be a "cute" site, from the sound of it. Not so!
She has the most wonderful recipes - this one is for fans of Starbucks, and it's her Copy Cat version of their White Chocolate Mocha (which costs a fortune, as we all know).

And thanks to Mommy's Kitchen, here is the link to another site for my personal favourite: Iced Coffee.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy, I'm going to be in Caffeine Heaven!

NEW COMPETITION - WHAT I DID ON OUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS
HI gangI thought it was time we had another competition.
This one is What I Did on My Summer Holidays - and I want to see your altered art, journal, altered book, scrapbooking type pages for this one.
The competition closes 30th September, and the prizes will be:
1st prize:
A6 plate of BladeRubber Stamps' new Parisian plate (just being pressed as we speak, and designed by yours truly)
2nd prize:
3 unmounted stamps by BladeRubberStamps (nice big ones)
3rd prize:
Your choice of either 1 large or 3 small unmounted stamps by BladeRubberStamps
RULES
I need to see some stamping somewhere! It can be lettering, quotations, anything that fits the theme.
Send your jpgs to me (my email button is in the sidebar) by 15th September. These can be photos of your work, or scans.
This time around, I'm not looking for cards, I'm looking for whatever fits the theme - so I think scrapbook pages/spreads/brag books, or a journal spread, altered book spread etc etc will work the best.
- Yes, you can use personal photos!
- Yes, you can use commercially purchased scrapbooking elements (digital or real)!
- But you must put some stamping in somewhere.
- The stamps can be by any manufacturer, not just BladeRubberStamps.
As before, the BladeRubber Stamps team, Freyja Lee and myself will choose the 10 we like best, then we'll put it up to a public vote so you can all root for your favourites.
Any questions, queries etc, contact me.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with!Saturday, 1 August 2009
