WE'RE FAMOUS!

I just got a lovely email from Charlotta (La Vikinga) who just visited the store. I can tell she shopped till she dropped, from the photo ...

Charlotta says:
I was visiting your store from Sweden on March 20th.
I liked it very much and I just wanted you to know I
have made a post in my blog about the store; here's
the page:

http://lavikingascrapp.blogspot.com/2010/03/scrapfynd-i-london.html

It's in Swedish and Spanish (I have some readers from Spanish-
speaking countries) blog about scrapbooking and cards etc.

Thank you for your help and the lady visiting you who also
told me a little about how to use the products!

Thanks so much for emailing and telling us. You've got some wonderful stash there. I hope you email with photos of projects you make!

CAKE PIN CUSHIONS

The DIY Dish is up and running, and here is the very first brilliant project: an easy-peasy no-sew cake pincushion in felt, plus a variation using fabrics (very simple sewing).

Aren't these fun?

Here's the link for the downloadable pdf with the instructions and measurements.

If you go to the blog and enter their giveaways before 30th March, there are two Janome sewing machines and 10 pin cushion kits up for grabs! Open to non-US as well (but you do have to be over 18 years old).

Fantastic, no? And by the way, the twins are not related to Marie Osmond!

I'm definitely making one (or two) - so much better than the cracked plastic container with a bit of chewed-up sponge on top!

INTRODUCING CHRIS McMILLAN

Here's our other Design Team member: Chris McMillan.

Chris is also teaching classes at the BladeRubber shop (including how to make the fabulous cards below).

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

A very gentle colour combination of flowers and Easter images, using coloured pencils on the main images.

TWO LITTLE BIRDS

Decoupage - copyright Chris McMillan

An unusual and restrained colour palette of subdued yellows and purples with a touch of sage green. The birds have been stamped a second time, cut out and mounted with pop dots.

MAN'S BEST FRIEND

A masculine card for a change! These are SO difficult...  A fabulous combination of metal quilting and alcohol inks.

I think you'll agree that Chris has a very elegant style!

SUE LARK ART!

I am thrilled to announce we now have a Design Team!

May I introduce Sue Lark, who has created these two wonderful cards using BladeRubber Stamps images.

French Flavour

This one uses my own Beret Girl design, and is very simply created with gold acrylic paint scraped across the card, with the gaps filled in by smooshing a pink chalk inkpad! The black lace layer is textured card and a border punch. Simple and elegant, I love it!

Leonardo Lady

Take one fabulous image (Leonardo Da Vinci's Lady) and layer to handmade black card, then layer that to a stamped background dusted with Perfect Pearls, and you have a wonderful card! Embellishments are black handmade paper (layered under the background image) and circle peeloffs at the corners, filled in with glitter glue. And a delicate little flower, glittered, as the final finishing touch.

Don't you just love these!
