TIM HOLTZ - NEW COREDINATIONS & DISTRESS STAINS NOW IN STOCK!

I'm very excited to announce we've got the new Tim Holtz Distress Stains and papers in the shop!

What are the Stains? Concentrated inks, like the Distress-Re-inkers in the little glass bottles, but with a convenient Dabber top - so all you have to do is swipe across your papers.
Distress Stains colour chart

Here, I used just one coat of the Broken China Stain, which I swiped over a sepia-toned Grunge paper, and Antique Linen over Tissue Tape and on the edges of the quotation tag. (For more concentrated colour, allow your first coat to dry, then apply again. So easy!)
TIP: When you first use your Distress Stain, take off the cap and turn the bottle upside down. Press down ONCE, firmly - you'll hear a 'click' - and that's your bottle primed ready for use! Don't do this twice, and don't squeeze your bottle or you'll waste lots of ink. I also recommend you do this on your non-stick sheet in case you get a bit over-enthusiastic!
Here's a link for you to download a printable colour chart of your own - just fill it in and keep it on your art table!
Here are the new Core'dinations papers - which you can also buy by the single sheet (hurrah! you can pick out your favourites) which you can emboss and sand, or tear, cut, rip - to expose the differently coloured core in the centre of the paper - in those special Tim Colours!  Perfect for all those scrapbooking projects - but also great for cards, boxes etc.

These are all in the shop now (personal shoppers only).  How fabulous is that?

Can't WAIT to get my hands on them!

THE SPECTRE'S BRIDE - CONFIGURATION BOX

I have just finished another Configuration Box - this one is the smallest size available, so just shows it doesn't have to be big to be beautiful!

Closeup - the red torso is actually a mould and UTEE!
I had this brilliant vintage sheet music titled 'The Spectre's Bride' - so that was the inspiration for this piece.

Detail of the top - a large key acts as a handle

A little spooky, it isn't intended to be for Halloween or anything like that - more Phantom of the Opera, if anything.

I found the strange Gothic Queen Elizabeth I skull piece in a charity shop of all places: modern, resin, I treated it to several coats of Tim Holtz Crackle Paint in Rock Candy, which gave it a German glass glittter effect and aged it down, without needing to 'grunge' it up with paints or dyes.

I hope you like it. I'm really looking forward to teaching this class!

MY CONFIGURATION BOX

We all made a Configuration Box at the ArtsyCrafty event last week - although most of us didn't have time to finish them. I've finally done mine, and here it is in all its glory!

1st shot of my Configuration Box - this is the one I started at the Tim Holtz gig last week, but didn't have time to completely finish
Closeup detail (I've got a new camera that actually works, and yes, I actually managed to operate a zoom lens)
A 2nd zoom closeup shot, just to prove it wasn't a fluke
And a 3rd closeup (yes, now I'm just showing off)
And my box again (different shot, just to prove I COULD, lol)
I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with it. So much so, that I'm teaching a new class just for this box (details here)! I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I've nearly finished my second one already!

PIX WITH TIM & MARIO

More pix with Tim and Mario - this time at the Artsy Crafts event organised by Leandra of PaperArtsy and Lin (LB Crafts).

Here's the gang from Blade Rubber Stamps!

Tim with the Blade Rubber Design Team - Sue on the far left, then me, Tim, Chris and Liz. Did you notice Tim had his hand on my shoulder! My little claim to fame - be still my beating heart etc, lol lol lol
In fact I'm so overcome I have my head on his shoulder. And he's STILL smiling. That man has the patience of a saint, seriously.
Me with Mario - who also has unfailing patience (and remembered me from last week at Birmingham, and said he liked my hair). A thousand blessings upon him. I so admire a man with taste, lol.  (I wasn't ready for the shot, hence the weird expression. And in case you were asking, it's a Mickey Mouse Tshirt.)
