MY ALTERED BOOK PROJECT IN CRAFT STAMPER

Pix copyright Craft Stamper Magazine, artwork copyright Susie Jefferson
Just a quick note for you all - I'm in July's edition of Craft Stamper Magazine - I was too late with my Altered Book submission, but am in the Web Extra section - and they've published the article as a downloadable pdf if anyone is interested!

Here are some of my own pix, so you can see the details better:

With the extended page (on the left) closed
Closeup detail, showing the lace at the edge
And now with the extended page open:

With the extended page (on the left) open
Closeup of the extended page and pockets with tags inserted
Closeup of the slide mount detail on the right-hand page
I got a mention inside the front cover, and they've done a lovely job with the photography in the article. Nice, huh?

I'm quite excited about it - it's a new idea that Katy Fox (Editor) is trying out - more eye candy in the magazine, instructions on the web.So more room for photos, and photos are bigger too!

Here's the link again for the downloadable pdf tutorial.

ROMANTIC CARD - BY FREYJA

As we're now into July (WHERE did all that time go? Last time I turned round, it was February...) I thought I'd load up some cards for you to drool over. The Design Team is also busy doing new samples for classes for the coming Season (classes start again in September, and we have some wonderful workshops planned for you).

Meantime, here's a fabulous card project for you by Freyja Lee:

Freyja says:
This ultra romantic Stampington image is stamped over a shaving foam marbled background. The flower is another piece of marbling made from punched hearts.

The mount is a piece of embossed wallpaper. Collect a few samples, leave plain or sponge, paint or even gold leaf for useful and decorative mounts.

The butterfly is a silver/clear peel off over scrap painted paper.Don’t dismiss peel offs, they can make the perfect embellishment to finish a card.

Tip: when sponging or painting always keep black and white scraps of card or paper to hand and use to stamp, sponge or brush off spare colour before cleaning up. Collect a few samples and you will always find a colour or unusual ‘rainbow’ of colours to match your work. Use for backing peel offs, punching shapes or for stamped and cut out embellishments.Especially luminous with pearlescent or metallic colours and gorgeous under those sparkle transparent peel offs for extra ‘bling’.

Unique, pennies to make and can’t be bought at any price.

Fabulous, or what? Love it, love it, love it!
